This is not the full story, but I'm putting this out because I'm limited on time, and I wanted to publish the video as soon as possible. You Probably saw it on YouTube Anyways I'm gonna just start off with the summary of the story. This incident occurred March 5, 2026 at 9:08 pm MST. Downtown at Union Station Denver Colorado USA. RTD (Regional Transportation District)
Two men were having a verbal argument on the platform. Two female security guards were telling the men to stop. One of the female security guards was close near the area. The other was across the tracks. Both men walked away. One came back riding a bicycle and pepper sprayed the other male. The female security that was nearby the man got sprayed as well from over spray. It was windy that day. The man on the bicycle with pepper spray got away right before police arrived. Immediately after the incident a large security & police presence appeared. The man who was pepper sprayed was in shock, acting confused, jumped on the tracks, then sat down on the stairs leading to train tracks & could not see.
When RTD police officer Maurice Hawkins (badge number 2334) arrived on scene first. A security guard that did not witness the event told officer Maurice that the man on the tracks had pepper spray and sprayed security. Which was not true the man on the stairs leading to the tracks was the one who was pepper sprayed. Maurice spoke with the man who was covered in pepper spray, screaming that he could not see, needed water, & told Maurice he had been pepper sprayed and did not attack anyone. It was obvious that he was not the man with pepper spray & was the victim. Yet instead of letting the man who was the victim walk away to flush his eyes out with water. Instead officer Maurcie Hawkins & two other security guards (who did not witness event) grabbed the man shoved him against the wall and bent his arms behind his back and handcuffed him.
Maurice Hawkins lied in the police report stating that "I asked multiple times if he had pepper spray, but he didn't give me an answer and was yelling." After police spoke with the female security guard who was not sprayed with pepper spray. The police found out the man they detained was the victim and did not have pepper spray. The man who was the victim did not want to press charges against the man on the bicycle who pepper sprayed him. The female security guard did press charges against the man on the bicycle. RTD did not release the names of the two victims and blurred faces on body cameras. Officer Maurice Hawkins knew what he did was wrong because he told the male victim he could file a complaint against RTD police. Which was recorded on his body camera. It appears that Officer M. Hawkins turned off his body camera during the detainment.
End of Summary
I personally saw SOME of the incident and recorded it with my cell phone. There was a large security and police presence at the Union Station. I only had seen when they were shoving him up against the wall, handcuffing him, and after releasing him. I actually gave the man my phone number, but I believe he lost it because he did not text me back. The man they arrested was definitely not the person who assaulted someone or had pepper spray. Two security guards saw the whole thing. One of them was nearby the two men trying to a verbal argument. It wasn't a fight or physical altercation. One of the men, the one that's arrested in the video was pepper sprayed. He was walking away from the situation. That guy who pepper sprayed him left, walked away and got on a bicycle, then rode the bicycle back, stopped and sprayed him from like at least fifteen feet away.
I know this because I know how big those platforms are on the Union Station.
It was a windy day & the security guard was in the nearby vicinity. She got sprayed by mist or over spray blew in her face. The man with pepper spray rode his bicycle away and was never caught.
The man who was pepper sprayed was homeless guy eventually got detained by police. Grabbed roughly, shoved against the wall by 3 people & handcuffed.
2 Security guards helped with the arrest which I found out through RTD Records Department and also speaking with a security guards in person at other incident's. That they are not supposed to touch anybody unless it is to defend themself.
M. Hawkins Badge Number 2334 police officer lied in his police report and he specifically stated the victim did not state that he did or did not have pepper spray. You can see from the video the victim clearly states, I don't have pepper spray. I was pepper sprayed. I didn't fight nobody. I didn't touch nobody.
The victim clearly a lot of pepper spray on his face, you know. Sometimes when you spray pepper spray you can also, if the wind's blowing your direction even though you're spraying away from yourself it can get in your face. You can be collateral damage. People can be collateral damage so it's obvious with the amount of pepper spray that he had on his face. He's not the one with pepper spray. Officer Maurice Hawkins also turned off his body camera when being aggressive with the victim who was pepper sprayed. The security guard who was pepper sprayed is also labeled as a victim with RTD police. The male victim didn't wanna press charges so I don't know why they redacted his face.
The security guard to me I believe she's like a public figure kinda almost like a police officer even though she's a security guard. You know, they should have released her personal information. I mean not personal information but her full name and showed her face in the video. So there's issues with the, the Records Department. They didn't wanna give me the names of the security guards that were, that, you know, helped with detaining the victim. I gotta complain about that.
I got security camera footage. It's in the video. I'm gonna do public records requests 'cause the two security guards who witnessed the incident filed written statements or written reports about the incident. They were both female witnesses. I need to get the name and face revealed of the male victim. He's a homeless man & was a victim of police brutality and I believe an unlawful detainment. It was clear by what had happened, if they radioed it in, they would say, "Hey, the guy who you need to find has a bicycle. He rode away."
Because it was clear that that was the one who did the, the attack. The other man didn't touch anybody. He wasn't, you know, he wasn't even that close to that man. You can see from the security camera footage. But yet, he was still detained and a security guard lied about him being the one that pepper sprayed, People were giving misinformation.
It was not good. There was somebody else who also witnessed it. I don't know if he was a security guard. I seen him walking with Officer Larkin down the platform. I am going to get that report.
This incident occurred March 5, 2026 at 9:08 pm MST. Downtown at Union Station Denver Colorado USA. RTD (Regional Transportation District) arrest homeless man across from the A line (airport route). I had just missed my train. When I was walking towards the station I saw security running away looking for someone. Then I saw two security officers and a police officer holding a man against a wall. The arrested man was screaming I did not do anything and I was 100 yards away from them. I was expressing my first amendment rights. Complaining about his eyes burning because someone had pepper sprayed him. The police saw me recording then let the man go. officer N. Larkin #2444 was in the video. I do not know who the black officer was but I am going to get name and badge number. I am requesting body cam footage & incident report. I spoke with the man briefly gave him my phone number. He said he would text me and then I told him to take care of his eyes. He went to the bathroom to rinse his eyes. Ambulance came and multiple police cars when officers released him. He might have refused medical service.
