Stephanie Hancock's Husband is a Writer For the Denver Gazette. Is it beneficial for an Aurora council member to have a husband who is a writer at a main stream media outlet?

This investigation started when I attended an Aurora Colorado town hall meeting about data centers on June 29, 2026. A man got upset and stood up. He yelled at the crowd "listen. He said it's not a problem. Not that it's not bad or worse than somewhere else. It's not a problem. It is a problem." That man's name was Michael Hancock who was sitting next to Council Woman Stephanie Hancock. Before he spoke Stephanie had gotten up before him with an angry look on her face as she walked to the back of the room. She stood beside a man and said "What a stupid question Toxic Waste". She was referring to Captain Kirk (a local legend / character who is a good guy) who asked if the data centers produced toxic waste. Simple question not stupid.
At the time I did not know who the Michael was but after doing some searching online who was Stephanie's husband I found out that the man indeed was her husband. And that this is not the only time he has tried to influence people towards his wife's agenda. Michael was in the past on the aurora Community Advisory Council which focused on police reform. While his wife was on city council. Michael is now A writer at the Denver Gazette and has written many articles. Is it beneficial for a council member to have a husband who is a writer at a main stream media outlet?
My opinion: Michael criticizes certain council members on behalf of Stephanie. How convenient that a council member has her husband as a writer on a mainstream media outlet. If he wants to sleep in the bed instead of the couch Michael will write an article that favors his wife's agenda & opinion LOL. Is it beneficial for a council member to have a husband who is a writer at a main stream media outlet?
The Denver Gazette and The Colorado Springs Gazette are published by The Colorado Springs Gazette, LLC, a privately held, wholly owned subsidiary of Clarity Media Group, Inc. and part of The Anschutz Corporation’s portfolio of global business holdings. The media group is controlled by Colorado billionaire Phil Anschutz, who purchased the parent company’s flagship publication, the Colorado Springs Gazette, in 2012. Phil Anschutz has given a lot of money in state and federal political contributions, almost entirely to Republican Party committees, candidates, and conservative groups. Stephanie Hancock is a Republican or was a Republican. She ran as a republican in the past for Colorado House of Representatives District 41 in the year 2022. But her most recent campaign which got her elected to the Aurora city council she ran as non partisan / independent. My opinion is she is an undercover republican. Does Stephanie Hancock have any direct associations with Phil Anschutz? Has Stephanie received any donations from Phil Anschutz?
This is not the only time people directly linked to council members have published articles in mainstream media. In fact Mayor Mike Coffman wrote an Opinion article in the Denver Post on February 10, 2026. Mike gave himself and the Aurora Water Department a good review. Was their a conflict of interest? LOL Link to article below. Is the Mayor Mike Coffman ethical for writing this opinion in the newspaper? What connections does the Denver Post have with Mayor Mike Coffman? Could the Denver Post possibly be helping only showing positive views and suppressing negative views about the city of Aurora? When the city has press conferences does the city invite all journalist or only selective journalist from corporate owned news that give a positive narrative about the city?
